Jyothis Institute of Medical Technology was established at Vaikom in 1981. The institution, which has made dynamic progress in educational and research activities, over the last few decades established itself as a leader in paramedical education in the state of Kerala in private sector. The mission is to provide vocational training for the unemployed youth. Medical care is a primary facility offered by the government to the people. For achieving this, many paramedical institutions, hospitals and clinics have been set up in the Government and private sector. But there is a lack of medical staff to fill up the large requirements in this field. Para medical staff is essentially needed by each and every hospital and clinic. Nowadays no treatment is discharged without clinical, radiological and cardiac findings. Hence, well experienced technicians are no less important than other professionals in the medical field. The government also provides full support to self-employment schemes of technically qualified staffs. With this objective in mind, the institute offers various paramedical courses.
Jyothis Institute of Medical Technology offer job oriented courses in paramedical field. Candidates those who have successfully completed the course are employed in most of the states in India, all gulf countries and western countries also. The demand for Radiographer, CT Scan Technician, MRI Technicians, Medical Laboratory Technicians and ECG Technicians are increasing by every year.
